ANTICIPATED PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHING ASSISTANT FULL-TIME POSITION
LOCATION: Amherst Middle School
SALARY: $19.50/Hour
HOURS: 32.5 hours/week
START DATE: September 8, 2026
JOB SUMMARYA Teaching Assistant assists with instruction and classroom management under the supervision of the classroom Physical Education/Health Teacher. They must perform duties within and outside the classroom.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Assume teacher responsibilities consistently and successfully.
- Assist in conducting classroom activities that enhance opportunities to develop skills.
- Assist with routine classroom functions.
- Teaching Assistant certification or NYS Teacher certification.
- NYS Physical Education/Health certification preferred.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification required.
- Must be fingerprinted through the NYS Department of Education prior to start date.
- Experience working with students preferred.
- Experience responding to emergencies.
