Position: Manager, People Development, Custom Learning and Design
Location: New York

Opportunity

We are seeking a Manager, People Development, Custom Learning and Design to join our New York office (hybrid) and lead innovative learning initiatives for Attorneys and Business Services Professionals (BSP) across the Americas, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. The role requires a strategic leader with deep experience designing, delivering, and evaluating professional development programs for legal professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Innovation – Collaborate with the Core L&D and People Strategy teams to identify evolving needs of attorneys and BSPs; design and implement self‑study and technology‑enabled learning solutions; lead the full lifecycle of program content from needs assessment through pilot, rollout, and integration into core curricula.
  • Program Delivery and Facilitation – Facilitate professional skills workshops, seminars, and training sessions (in‑person and virtual); adapt facilitation techniques to diverse learning styles and professional levels; serve as subject‑matter expert in management, executive presence, leadership, feedback, career development, and professionalism.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement – Work closely with Strategic Leadership L&D, People Strategy, Technology, Marketing/Communications & Knowledge Management teams to capture evolving learning needs; engage partners, chiefs, directors, and people strategy teams to secure buy‑in; communicate program outcomes and insights to all stakeholders.
  • Program Management & Quality Assurance – Review, approve, and refine new programs for launch and continuous improvement; manage learning webpages for global access and exceptional user experience; oversee the transition of new programs into core curricula or practice group training.
  • Measurement, Reporting & Data Management – Collect, analyze, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) and return on investment (ROI); collaborate with HRIS and reporting teams to ensure data aligns with business needs; present actionable insights to stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in learning and development, curriculum design, and facilitation.
  • Deep understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design, including integration of self‑study tools and technology.
  • Demonstrated experience creating, implementing, and facilitating learning programs for attorneys.
  • Experience partnering with attorney stakeholders to develop programming that supports legal and professional skills, career development, and practice‑specific needs.
  • Exceptional organizational and project implementation skills, with the ability to manage multiple simultaneous initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage, develop, and inspire teams, associates, and BSPs.
  • Strong cross‑functional, cross‑regional influence and experience operating in global, multicultural environments.
  • Proficiency in learning technologies for virtual programs and data analytics.
  • Availability to travel to support programming across global offices.
Education & Experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of training experience in a professional services environment.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent professional certification (preferred).

Salary Details

Base salary range: $155,000–$175,000, with additional discretionary bonuses and compensation consistent with applicable law.
