Chappaqua CSD is looking for a thoughtful and knowledgeable educator to serve in the anticipated leave replacement position of Math Teacher at Robert

E. Bell Middle School, effective May 29, 2026 through June 26, 2026.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Expertise in math content ranging from algebra through calculus.
  • Exudes a joy of learning and can effectively work with students of all skill and ability levels.
  • Proficiency in designing learning activities that showcase the application of mathematics to everyday existence and problem-solving, utilizing an inquiry-based approach.
  • Possesses strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Fosters a welcoming classroom environment that nurtures emotional well-being and a sense of belonging.
  • Uses NYS standards educational research to inform instructional practices.
  • Uses formative assessments to gauge student understanding.
  • Has experience with evidence-based social-emotional learning strategies to promote emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of the RULER approach is preferred.
  • Uses knowledge of students and student performance when planning lessons.
  • Infuses culturally relevant practices to ensure that lessons reflect the diverse backgrounds and experiences of all students.
  • Integrates diverse perspectives and voices into instructional materials and resources to broaden students' understanding of the world.
  • Maintains high expectations for all students.
  • Engages in regular, collaborative professional development with the understanding that team efficacy is greater than individual efforts alone.
Certification/Experience
  • New York State Certification:
    Mathematics 7-12 and 5-6 Extension or Childhood Education 1-6.
  • Successful teaching experience in the area of mathematics at the middle school level is preferred.
