School Counselor - 1.0 FTE, Probationary O'Rourke Middle School

The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking a qualified and student-centered School Counselor to join the team at O'Rourke Middle School. This is a full‑time, probationary position beginning with the 2026–2027 school year.

The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive school counseling program that supports the academic, social‑emotional, and career development needs of middle school students.

• Provide individual and group counseling services to students.
• Assist students with academic planning, goal setting, and personal development.
• Support students' social‑emotional well‑being and help address barriers to learning.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and support staff to promote student success.
• Participate in student support teams, Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings, and other school‑based initiatives as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate student records and documentation.
• Implement and support the district's comprehensive school counseling program in accordance with New York State regulations.

• Valid New York State School Counselor certification required.
• Knowledge of adolescent development and middle school counseling practices.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, faculty, and staff.
