We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Infant Teacher – Fulltime.
Position SummaryUnder the supervision of the Education Director, the Infant Teacher will work within the framework of Sunset Park Health Council, DOE, DOHMH, NAEYC, and Quality Stars NY standards, policies, and procedures. The teacher promotes early childhood education for children and families in and out of the classroom by providing sound supervision, developmentally appropriate lessons, community outings, and ensuring the health and safety of all children.
The role includes developing positive parent relations, encouraging parental involvement, supporting the professional growth of classroom associates, conducting team meetings, attending staff meetings, seeking professional development opportunities, and documenting lessons, observations, assessments, and all required paperwork.

- Use bleach solutions to clean toys and surfaces as required
- Notify parents and director when children are sick or injured

- Inspect fire exits and extinguishers regularly
- Feed children according to individual needs, family input, and CACFP guidelines
- Put infants to sleep according to individual schedules and prevent SIDS
