Varsity Cross Country Head Coach – High School. Season dates:
August 20, 2026 to October 30, 2026. Saint Ann’s School, Brooklyn Heights, seeks experienced part‑time coach for Varsity Cross Country team. Seasonal position paid via stipend.
The team will begin practices in mid/late August. Practices run 3‑5 mornings per week until September 10; thereafter shift to 90‑120 minute late‑afternoon/early‑evening sessions with possible 1‑2 7:00 a.m. practices per week. Candidate must be able to attend all practices and meets.
Responsibilities- Uphold the Saint Ann’s mission statement
- Communicate effectively with parents, players, athletic directors, athletic trainers, and school administration
- Assist and/or lead athletes through warm‑ups, skill development, and conditioning
- Valid CPR & First Aid certifications; professional references, background check, and fingerprinting required upon contract offer.
- Demonstrate understanding of purpose and value of physical fitness and wellness.
- Knowledge of movement concepts, sport‑specific skills and strategies, and health‑related fitness concepts.
- Strong passion for sharing love of movement and physical activity with students of all ages.
- Incorporate variety of teaching methods to accommodate multiple learning styles.
- Use positive motivation to create a safe, nurturing, supportive environment fostering self‑esteem.
- Create joyful, stimulating learning experience engaging the students.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
This is a part‑time exempt faculty position. Salary range of $5,000–$7,000 for the season, commensurate with education and experience.
