Overview
The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), part of the State University of New York, is an internationally renowned college of art, design, business and technology with a strong emphasis on liberal arts. FIT invites nominations and applications for the position of Faculty Affairs Manager in the Office of Faculty Services (OFS).
Responsibilities- Oversee daily operations of the Office of Faculty Services.
- Lead in the development and maintenance of project management software workflows; oversee faculty lifecycle data management, process automations, and reporting.
- Serve as a resource for administrators and faculty on college policies, academic procedures, and the use of work management applications. Support reappointments, tenure, promotions, and sabbaticals.
- Provide guidance on procedures in the Faculty Senate Bylaws, Faculty Handbook, and Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Support the Office of Human Resources in confidential actions including updates to personnel files, investigations, and related matters.
- Provide support to faculty and departments on confidential matters related to reappointment, tenure, promotion, and Certificates of Continuous Employment (CCE). Maintain records of departmental election cycles and eligibility.
- Oversee the student evaluation process for classroom faculty, non-classroom faculty, and classroom assistants.
- Coordinate with the Faculty Senate president and key Faculty Senate committee chairs on meeting preparation, applications for review, ballot generation, senate elections, and communications to stakeholders.
- Coordinate and conduct informational workshops on application processes, timelines, and document requirements for reappointments, tenure, promotion, sabbaticals, and release time for research.

Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree required.
- A minimum of 5 years of responsible administrative experience in higher education, with involvement in faculty processes and academic administration.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, workflow management, and project management software.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing and supervising administrative support staff.
- Proven expertise in parliamentary procedures for committee and meeting sessions.
- Master's degree preferred.
- 7+ years of relevant managerial experience in higher education or a related sector.
- Prior academic leadership experience is highly desirable.
- Proven capability to handle confidential matters with discretion, balance multiple demands and projects, and manage current and emerging priorities and deadlines.
- Exemplary professionalism, collaboration, discretion, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Ability to cultivate and foster professional collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Developing and conducting training seminars and workshops.
- Automating and streamlining administrative processes.
- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
- Selecting and using appropriate training/instructional methods for effective learning and teaching.
- Making informed judgments and decisions by considering costs and benefits of potential actions.
Salary
Salary: $99,777.63 to $ per year; commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The UCE-FIT Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) dictates the compensation, benefits, and conditions of employment. Hiring salary: $99,777.63 per year with step increments per Salary Schedule 96 after one year of service and annually thereafter.
