Job Description:

The Exceptional Education and Learning Department of the School of Education at SUNY Old Westbury invites applications for Adjunct Faculty in Special Education. Responsibilities may include teaching graduate and/or undergraduate courses in Special Education based on student enrollment and availability of courses. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to teaching, scholarship, and service that aligns with the strong social justice mission of the institution.

Experience in assessing and teaching individuals with disabilities and collaborating with families, teachers, related service providers, and administrators is required.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

* Ed.D. or Ph.D. in Special Education or a related field, or ABD within a year of completion of doctorate.

* Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Special Education.

* Experience teaching at the college level.

* Experience teaching students with special needs.

* Experience teaching a culturally and economically diverse student population.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Scholarship and research experience.
