General Description

SUNY Niagara has a need for a part‑time Drafting Techniques for CADD Instructor to teach courses in the Drafting department within the Business and STEM division. This position will be responsible for teaching and advising students throughout the academic year who are enrolled in the program. PT instructors will also be responsible for attending meetings as requested.

Classes are held in person on SUNY Niagara’s main campus in Sanborn, NY. Applicants must be able to attend in‑person meetings, professional development, and other obligations on the Sanborn campus.

Remuneration for persons teaching at least 3 credits in a semester: $915 per lecture hour / $819 per lab hour.

Essential Functions

Ability to navigate relationships with diverse populations. Ability to speak in front of groups of people. Ability to actively involve and engage students in their own learning. Must be able to effectively communicate with students, co‑workers, supervisors and the campus and external community. Must be able to develop, prepare, and present information. Must able to operate computers. Must be able to physically perform the duties of the position.

  • Teach course on campus.
  • Track attendance as needed.
  • Report on student learning outcomes at the end of the semester.
  • Report grades at the conclusion of the semester.
  • Attend and participate in meetings as necessary.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Drafting.
  • Two years of experience in Drafting.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering Technology.
  • Two years of experience particularly in AutoCAD.
