Job Description:

The Department of Psychology at SUNY Old Westbury regularly seeks to hire adjunct instructors to teach courses as needed in the department. The Department of Psychology offers a B.A. and B.S. degree in Psychology, and a minors in Psychology, Neuropsychology, and Social Work. The major is deeply grounded in the scientific study of mind, brain, and behavior. Completion of requirements for a Bachelor's degree in Psychology ensures that students have been given an extensive background in research methods and have been introduced to the basic areas of specialization within psychology.

Candidates for adjunct positions should have a record of high-quality teaching.

We are seeking applicants who can teach the following types of Psychology courses:

* Introduction to Psychology

* Psychology of Prejudice and Discrimination

* Psychology of Gender

* Clinical Psychology

* Social Psychology

* Abnormal Psychology

* Research Methodology and Statistics

* Theories of Personality

* Brain and Behavior

* Psychology of Addictions

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

* A minimum of a Master's degree in Psychology.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Ph.D. in Psychology or ABD degree.

* Previous teaching experience at the college level.
