Mentor a NYC High School Student!
iMentor is a youth mentoring program working to empower first‑generation college students to graduate high school, succeed in college or other post‑secondary pathways, and achieve their highest ambitions through one‑on‑one mentorships. iMentor supports nearly 3,000 NYC students every year through mentorship; join our community of service‑oriented professionals mentoring the next generation of leaders.
Mentorship isn't just about helping students with academic success – it's about building meaningful relationships that shape futures.
The experience only takes 3–4 hours a month. You will communicate online once a week and meet once a month during the school year. This results in approximately 6–8 in‑person meet‑ups during the academic year; the program does not run during the summer.
About YouOur mentors are often college‑educated volunteers, but a college degree is not required. Mentors commit to working one‑on‑one with a student for a minimum of two years. It is a hybrid program: mentors write to their mentee once per week remotely and meet once per month at the mentee’s school during the school year.
Requirements- Age minimum (with adult): 18+ or 21+ for adult mentors
