Hewlett Woodmere Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and dynamic part-time (.8) Social Studies teacher to join our faculty beginning August 26, 2026. This position will serve students in grades 7–12. The ideal candidate is a collaborative educator committed to fostering critical thinking, civic engagement, and academic excellence across diverse learners.

• Teach Social Studies courses across multiple grade levels (7–12), including various academic levels
• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction aligned to NYSED frameworks
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including ICT (Integrated Co-Teaching) environments
• Develop and implement assessments to measure student learning and growth
• Collect, analyze, and use student data to inform instruction and improve outcomes
• Collaborate with colleagues, co-teachers, and support staff to enhance student success
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff

• Valid NYSED Certification in Social Studies (Grades 7–12 required)
• Strong knowledge of NYSED Social Studies standards and frameworks
• Experience teaching middle and/or high school students preferred
• Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver effective instruction across grade levels
• Experience working in collaborative and ICT classroom settings
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to continuous professional growth
