We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Special Education Coordinator who is passionate about student advocacy, compliance, inclusive education, and supporting diverse learners.
Requirements- Master's Degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or related field
- New York State Special Education Certification
- Minimum 3 years of successful experience in special education teaching, coaching, or leadership
- Strong knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, IEP development, and compliance requirements
- Experience facilitating IEP meetings and coordinating special education services
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
- Commitment to educational equity, inclusion, and student-centered practices
- Experience supporting Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) programs
- Experience leading MTSS, RTI, and SST processes
- Experience coaching teachers and facilitating professional development
The Special Education Coordinator oversees and supports special education programming, compliance, ICT instructional practices, intervention services, and inclusive learning environments to ensure that students with disabilities receive high-quality, individualized support that promotes academic, social, and emotional success.
Working closely with students, families, teachers, service providers, and school leadership, the Coordinator facilitates IEP meetings, monitors service delivery and compliance, supports student intervention and referral processes, leads Student Support Team initiatives, and promotes equitable access to instruction and services. This role also provides instructional coaching to staff, supports Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) programs, collaborates with families and community partners, and coordinates testing accommodations and assessment compliance to ensure students receive the supports necessary to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
SalaryRange
$85,000 – $115,000, based on education, certification, years of relevant experience, and verified prior service.
Schedule11-month position with pay and benefits distributed evenly over 12 months to ensure consistent income and continuous coverage year-round.
