Job SummaryThe Dance Teaching Artist facilitates classes that will enable school age boys to develop their knowledge and ability in this artistic medium. We are seeking a highly motivated, reliable candidate with a strong track record working with young people. The instructor is responsible for writing and implementing lesson plans each month. The instructor will be responsible for preparing the dancers for two showcase performances.
MajorDuties and Responsibilities
- Encourage active participation and collaboration.
- Write and implement a curriculum that meets participants’ interests.
- Adapt the curriculum and training methods to meet participants’ needs and abilities, if necessary.
- Foster confidence, self-expression and creativity.
- Uphold principles of responsibility and accountability with participants.
- Work with Clubhouse and Program Development staff.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant training.
- Degree or certificate in specialized area of instruction (ideal).
- Demonstrated leadership ability in an educational, social service and/or youth development settings.
- Must be able to engage young people and set structure and limits in a group setting.
- Demonstrated flexibility, creativity and self-assuredness.
