Education: Master’s (or Equivalent) Required

Schedule: Sunday‑Thursday (occasional evenings required)

The Journey is an established 20‑year‑old church plant in New York City that currently meets in Times Square. The Journey has baptized 3,800+ people from across New York City and has a mission to give the people of NYC the best opportunity to become fully developing followers of Jesus.

We are looking for an experienced, energetic leader to serve as Growth Groups Pastor and Teaching Pastor. This executive pastor position is available immediately and will serve on the Executive Team. The role will oversee the semester‑based Growth Groups system and contribute to the teaching team. The leader may also provide leadership in other ministry areas depending on gifts and experience.

• Lead, grow and innovate The Journey’s semester‑based small groups ministry with a goal of getting 100% of the church in groups.
• Recruit new Growth Group leaders and form new groups each semester so that the entire church can participate.
• Possibly provide leadership of other ministry areas depending on experience and gifting.
• Lead teams effectively and raise up new leaders rapidly; possess strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Contribute to The Journey’s teaching team and work well with staff.
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic and experience leading large or growing church staff.
• Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, grow as a leader, build teams, possess a sense of humor, and take risks.
• Be an engaging communicator with a positive attitude and a calling to ministry in New York City.
• Name‑worthy educational background:
  Master’s (or equivalent) required.
• Willing to relocate to Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, or nearby (within 30‑minute public‑transport commute).
