Assistant Professor Overview

The New York School of Career and Applied Studies (NYSCAS) at Touro University seeks a dedicated faculty member to contribute to the Business and Accounting Department at its main campus in the vibrant 3 Times Square location. This role involves delivering high-quality instruction, engaging in scholarly research and publication, and actively participating in university service. Semesters comprise 15 sessions with a maximum enrollment of 25 students per course.

Proficiency in the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) and the Microsoft Office Suite is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Instructional Delivery:
    • Teach four courses per semester (Spring and Fall), accommodating diverse scheduling needs including day, evening, and Sunday classes.
    • Deliver instruction in a hybrid modality, seamlessly integrating in-person classroom teaching with concurrent Zoom sessions.
    • Develop and maintain engaging and effective course materials and assessments.
  • Scholarly Activity:
    • Conduct and disseminate business-relevant research through publications in reputable scholarly and professional journals and books.
  • University Service:
    • Actively participate in university committees and contribute to the broader academic community.
    • Attend and contribute to faculty meetings and engage in the intellectual life of the university.
Qualifications
  • Education/

    Experience:
    • Master's degree in a relevant field required.
    • Doctorate preferred.
    • Terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., DBA) in a relevant discipline preferred.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
    • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively, particularly under pressure.
    • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills, fostering positive working relationships with colleagues and students.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, demonstrating professionalism and maturity in diverse social and professional settings.
    • Proven ability to teach effectively in a hybrid learning environment, integrating in-person and online modalities.
  • Travel:
    • Travel may be required to other Touro University campuses within the New York City area.
  • Working Conditions:
    • Instruction will primarily take place at the 3 Times Square campus and via Zoom.
