Position: Full-Time Middle School Spanish Teacher for 2026-2027 and beyond
Location: New York

At International School of Brooklyn (ISB), our mission to shape curious, compassionate, and globally‑minded learners is inseparable from our commitment to fostering a community grounded in equity, inclusion, and belonging. We believe that the diversity of our community – across identities, experiences, and perspectives – strengthens our shared work and enriches the educational experience for all.

Every member of our faculty and staff plays an essential role in cultivating a learning environment where all students and colleagues feel seen, valued, and respected. ISB’s ongoing commitment to community, culture, and belonging calls on all educators and staff to engage meaningfully and reflectively in learning around identity, intercultural understanding, and anti‑bias practice.

Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to fostering inclusive learning spaces, actively examining how systems of privilege and bias may shape educational practices, and striving to ensure that all students, families and colleagues experience belonging and dignity. Preferred candidates will have experience embedding equitable and anti‑bias principles in their teaching, leadership, and daily interactions, and will be eager to grow as partners in ISB’s collective journey toward a more just and connected world.

The ideal candidate is one who understands and enjoys working with middle school students (ages 11‑14), who loves language learning, history, and humanities studies, and who inspires students to love that process as well. Other ideal attributes include commitment, patience, strong classroom management skills, positive energy, a sense of humor, and a commitment to making curriculum accessible to all types of learners.
