Principal For A Day

Since 1995, Principal For A Day has been one of New York City’s most unique and prestigious ways for business leaders to get involved in education. Principal For A Day provides corporate executives with the opportunity to shadow, learn from and advise school principals, meet with students to discuss their education and career trajectories, and connect with teachers and other school administration.

These activities simultaneously expose students in under resourced schools to a variety of industries as well as diverse representations of success. Over its history, PENCIL has worked with over 1,100 New York City public schools and has involved nearly 10,000 individuals in our acclaimed Principal For A Day program. Past participants have included Academy Award-winner Frances McDormand, Former Mayor, Michael Bloomberg, Jerry Seinfeld, and ABC anchor and Emmy winner Juju Chang, as well as hundreds of CEOs and senior leaders from companies like A+E Networks, Facebook, Google, Hearst, Infosys, JPMorgan

Chase, NBC Universal, Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, Viacom, and many more.
