Part‑Time Teacher Temp

Teach English to international students at Kaplan International Central Park. Flexible schedule: 15–30 hours per week, starting as soon as the end of April.

• Teach courses at any level using the KI curriculum as assigned.
• Maintain a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning and maximize student satisfaction.
• Advise and counsel students on academic performance and goals.
• Incorporate feedback from the Academic Director to improve teaching quality.
• Prepare lesson plans and submit them to the Academic Director.
• Accurately record attendance and student performance; submit rosters and Individual Student Reports (ISRs).
• Attend instructor meetings and in‑house workshops to enhance teaching skills.
• Use teaching technology (e.g., Smartboards) to enhance learning experience.
• Communicate absences to school staff; provide lesson plans and materials for substitutes.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent).
• Superior classroom engagement skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

• TESOL, CELTA, TEFL certificate or 12+ months ESL/EFL teaching experience.
• Experience with international students and/or 2+ years of international teaching.
• Foreign language proficiency.

• Sitting/standing.
• Lifting up to 20 lbs.
• Carrying, grasping, reaching.
• Visual acuity.
• Writing, speaking, listening.

• Hourly rate: $21.00–$25.00 (depending on experience) plus $500 sign‑on bonus after a specified period.
• Pay transparency (NYC guidelines):
  Average $23.27, minimum $21.00, maximum $26.12.
