Position Overview

Ashley Downs. Provide support to CCE’s East End Education and Back to the Bays teams in delivering seasonal programming at Tiana Bayside Facility. Assist Tiana Bayside Camp Program Directors with program activities. Under the supervision of the East End Education Program Manager, plan and conduct programs in support of our integrative art + science curriculum, hands‑on Back to the Bays restoration efforts, and general Tiana Bayside Adventures and ArtSEA summer camp programs.
Assist with all camp program activities and other Back to the Bays related activities and events as assigned. Interpret and help implement safety and health regulations. Participate in staff meetings and training events as scheduled.
- Assist program directors with program activities at Tiana Bayside Facility.
- Plan and conduct programs supporting the integrative art + science curriculum, Back to the Bays restoration efforts, and summer camp programs.
- Assist with all camp program activities and other back‑to‑the‑bays related events as assigned.
- Interpret and help implement safety and health regulations.
- Participate in staff meetings and training events as scheduled.
- High School Diploma, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in environmental or biological sciences, natural resource/coastal management, communications, education, or a related field.
- Commitment to working the regular camp schedule (8:30am – 2:30pm, July – August).
- Experience and comfort working with and supervising children 6‑13 years old in an outdoor environment.
- Ability to lead at least one program activity suitable to the camp curriculum.
- Ability to interact effectively with the public, including camper parents/guardians.
- Emotional maturity, willingness to learn, good health, and vitality.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other staff members and take direction.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
- Ability to meet acceptable background check standards.
- Fluent in English.
- Ability and interest in working additional flexible hours, assisting with other public programming, which may include evenings and/or weekends.
- Lifeguard and First/Action CPR certification or ability to complete necessary training.
- Prior knowledge of Long Island’s local marine life and habitats.
Salary: $18‑20 per hour (30‑35 hours per week).

NONEXEMPT – TEMP:
June 29, 2026 to August 28, 2026.
