SAT Tutor; ELA or ELA​/Math

Tutoring by Christine is seeking an engaging, reliable, and knowledgeable SAT tutor to join our growing team. We are specifically looking for candidates who are strong in SAT Reading & Writing (ELA). Candidates who can also teach SAT Math are strongly preferred.

We are looking for a tutor who can build strong relationships with students, explain concepts clearly, create an engaging learning environment, and help students strengthen their skills and confidence as they prepare for the SAT. Candidates should have evening and/or weekend availability and speak English clearly.

• Teach SAT Math if qualified
• Lead small-group SAT classes and/or private tutoring sessions
• Help students develop effective test-taking strategies and pacing skills
• Adapt instruction to different learning styles and student needs
• Track student progress and maintain professional communication
• Arrive prepared, organized, and on time

• Strong understanding of SAT Reading & Writing content and strategies
• Ability to clearly explain grammar, reading comprehension, and writing concepts
• Previous tutoring or teaching experience preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable, punctual, and professional
• Ability to engage and motivate high school students

• Ability to teach SAT Math in addition to ELA
• Experience with standardized test preparation
• Classroom teaching experience
• Experience working with small groups
• Part-time
• In-person position in Staten Island, NY (some online tutoring)
• Competitive hourly pay based on experience
