Lead Head Pre-K Teacher

Job Summary

Pay: $32,000.00 – $35,000.00 per year. Part‑time Preschool Lead Teacher for the 2026‑2027 school year with a September 2026 start date at The William Woodward Jr. Nursery School.

Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am – 12:30 pm (4‑hour shift).

In‑person, 10021 New York, NY. Reliable commute or relocation before start required.

• Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that prepares learners for Kindergarten.
• Create a positive, safe learning environment that nurtures social and emotional growth.
• Maintain accurate school reports and communicate regularly with families.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, specialists, and outside service professionals.
• Lead classroom communication: weekly lesson plan emails, monthly newsletters, and virtual slide presentations.
• Partner with parents to meet child needs, conduct bi‑annual parent‑teacher conferences, and provide ongoing support.
• Apply effective classroom management and differentiation techniques.
• Participate in Open House Events, Curriculum Night, Back‑to‑School activities, and staff meetings as needed.

• Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or actively pursuing one.
• NYS Certification in Early Childhood Education.
• Minimum five years of teaching experience, preferably as a Lead Teacher.
• DOH Background Check, including Fingerprinting; A‑Series and SCR credentials.
• Completed DOH Medical and all mandated training courses.
• CPR & First Aid certification.
• Knowledge of Reggio Emilia practice and Handwriting Without Tears is a plus.
