Role Description

This is a part-time, Technology Teacher role that visits senior centers NYC. The Technology Teacher will plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate technology lessons that may include topics such as basic coding, digital literacy, productivity tools, and technology for entrepreneurship. The person in this role will design projects that connect classroom learning to real-world applications, guiding learners as they build practical and creative technology solutions.

Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson materials, managing classroom activities, assessing learner progress, and providing constructive feedback to support growth. The Technology Teacher will collaborate with colleagues to align instruction with program goals, participate in curriculum reviews, and contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment that supports diverse learning styles and needs. The role may also involve communicating with caregivers and community partners to share program updates and celebrate learner achievements.

Qualifications
  • Strong instructional skills in Teaching and Education, with experience facilitating engaging, learner-centered technology lessons.
  • Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development, including the ability to design projects that integrate technology and entrepreneurship concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with Educational Technology tools and platforms used to enhance instruction, collaboration, and assessment.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and support learners with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and learning styles.
  • Excellent communication, classroom management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience working in K–12, out-of-school time programs, community-based organizations, or similar educational settings is preferred.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching practices.
