Overview
Mercy University seeks a dynamic, energetic, and thoughtful individual to join our team at the Manhattan Campus as an Admissions Counselor. The role is highly visible and focused on increasing awareness and building enthusiasm for Mercy University through student recruitment initiatives, outreach and communication, and specialized events. The Admissions Counselor will work primarily in the Brooklyn Territory, developing partnerships with high school counselors and community-based organizations while generating inquiries from prospective students that convert to enrolled students.
Local travel is required 50% of the time.
- Increase awareness and build enthusiasm for Mercy University through student recruitment initiatives, outreach and communication, and specialized events.
- Develop partnerships with high school counselors and community-based organizations in the Brooklyn Territory.
- Generate inquiries from prospective students that convert to enrolled students.
- Travel locally up to 50% of the time and participate in occasional evenings and Saturdays as needed.
- Engage prospective students in person and by phone, and deliver presentations to prospective students, families, advisors, counselors, and partner organizations.
- Collaborate with a team to achieve individual, departmental, and University goals.
- Education: Bachelor s Degree required

Skills & Experience: - Passion for ensuring access to higher education
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Comfortable engaging with prospective students in person and by phone
- Experience giving presentations to prospective students, families, advisors, counselors, and partner organizations
- Motivated with a sense of urgency to achieve goals
- Tenacity and creativity in addressing and solving problems
- Team player who can work collaboratively or autonomously
- Proficient in MS Office and Outlook, Banner, Slate, and other relevant admissions software
- Ability to travel locally on a daily basis and work occasional evenings and Saturdays
