Substitute Teacher - Non-Certified

Substitute Position

District-wide (PreK-12)

A substitute for instructional staff. Reports to the building principal.

Characteristics:

• Passionate about caring for and helping children;
• Effective verbal, written, and electronic communicator;
• Capable of integrating technology resources into curriculum and instruction;
• Able to maximize student effort and success both academically and socially;
• Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students and colleagues.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Able to organize and prioritize daily schedule and duties.
• Manage the classroom in a positive manner and keep students engaged, on task, and collaborative;
• Perform any other duties as assigned by a Supervisor / Administration.

Minimum one year college completed for non-certified applicants

Must be fingerprinted per NYSED Procedures.

Per diem substitute teachers receive $130.00 per full day (
* includes teaching assistants). Limitations apply for length of employment of uncertified teachers as per the Codes, Rules and Regulations for the State of NY Title 8 CRR-NY 8-5.4.
