Job Description:

SUNY Delhi is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking, and engaging Assistant Director of Student Activities and Residence Hall Director to join the Center for Student Leadership and Engagement and the Office of Residence Life. The Assistant Director of Student Activities and Residence Hall Director is the primary staff member charged with designing, implementing, and managing student leadership development initiatives, overseeing fraternity and sorority life, and supporting student leaders both within and outside of the residence halls. Reporting to the Director of Student Life and The First-Year Experience, this is a split 12-month live on position that serves as a half-time Assistant Director and half-time Residence Hall Director.

List of duties include:

Student Activities
- * Develop, plan and implement student leadership development, training programs and workshops, with a special emphasis on developing emerging student leaders.

* Take a primary role in developing and maintaining a comprehensive student organization advisor support program for all student clubs.

* Assist with annual Welcome Week, Orientation, Extended Orientation, Pathway programs and assist in the selection, training, and supervision of orientation leaders for all.

* Assist in the development, facilitation, and marketing of noontime, late night, commuter, online, first generation student and weekend programming and office initiatives.

* Serve as a Co-Advisor to the Student Programming Board

* Provide leadership in the oversight and development of the College's Fraternity & Sorority Life Program. Advise the Greek Council and provide direct support to fraternities and sororities.

* Maintain and enhance efforts to provide fraternities and sororities education on anti-hazing and risk management in accordance with best practices

* Provide and further develop effective training and support for all student groups in the areas of member recruitment, retention and group operations in accordance with best practices

Residence Life
- * Overall management and supervisory responsibility for a residence hall. This includes selection and supervision of resident assistant staff, occupancy management, building maintenance, Residence Hall programming and community development, and enforcing community norms and standards

* Enforce and adjudicate violations pertaining to the student code of conduct

* Foster student growth through intentional interactions, supporting and advising, staff and residents.

* Serve as a Co-Advisor to the Residence Hall Association

* Design and deliver a structured training initiatives for student staff, focusing on leadership development, crisis response, policy enforcement, and community engagement

* On-duty responsibilities and other work-related commitments during nights and weekends.

Campus Wide
- * Partner with key stakeholders on college-wide student programming initiatives

* Support campus-wide events:
Assist with major institutional events such as admissions programs and commencement

* Serve on departmental and College committees as assigned

* Other duties as assigned, including advising and supporting student groups

Requirements:

* Bachelors degree:

* Professional experience in residence life, housing operations, or access control management

Preferred Qualifications:

* Masters degree

* Valid driver's license,

* Experience managing/implementing housing or access control software,

* Experience working with on-campus housing assignments or summer operations

Additional Information:

Salary: $58,000

Reports to:

Director of Student Activities, dotted-line reporting relationship with the Director of Residence Life
