Part Time Biology/Anatomy & Physiology Instructor

According to SUNY Niagara, the position requires a Master’s degree in Biology or a related field (or equivalent) and at least one year of post-secondary teaching experience. The instructor will teach a variety of lecture and laboratory courses in Biology, Human Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology, and other discipline-specific courses within the Business & STEM Division.

Typical Work Activities
  • Design, prepare, and deliver lectures and laboratory instruction for the courses listed below.
  • Assess student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Maintain up-to-date course materials and stay current with subject‑area developments.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curricular coherence across the division.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and committee work as needed.
Courses to be Taught
  • General Biology I & II – lecture and lab
  • Human Biology – lecture and lab
  • Anatomy & Physiology I & II – lecture and lab
  • Microbiology – lecture and lab
  • Other discipline‑specific courses as assigned
Essential Functions
  • Work with a diverse student population.
  • Speak confidently in front of groups.
  • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, supervisors, and the campus community.
  • Develop, prepare, and present instructional materials.
  • Operate necessary computing equipment.
  • Perform physical duties required for teaching and laboratory instruction.
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Biology or related field (or Master’s with 18 graduate semester hours).
  • At least one year of post-secondary teaching experience.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience in alternative course delivery models.
  • Instructional experience in Anatomy & Physiology I & II and Human Biology at a community or four‑year college.
Remuneration

$1,008 per lecture hour and $903 per laboratory hour, paid per hour of instruction.
