Position Overview

Part‑time Horticulture Instructor – SUNY Niagara (Sanborn, NY campus)

Remuneration: $1,008 per lecture hour / $903 per lab hour.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in the appointed delivery format (face‑to‑face, face‑to‑face with Zoom, hyflex, hybrid, blended, or online).
  • Hold office hours (in person or virtual as appropriate).
  • Track attendance and complete census reports.
  • Report on student learning outcomes and grades at the end of each semester.
  • Additional duties may be discussed during the interview.
Essential Functions
  • Instruction of a diverse student population.
  • Effective communication with students, colleagues, supervisors, and the campus community.
  • Preparation and presentation of instructional material.
  • Use of computers and related technology.
  • Physical ability to perform teaching duties and compliance with ADA provisions.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate of Applied Science degree in Horticulture or a related field, or equivalent horticulture industry work experience that includes public speaking, training, and/or management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (or equivalent) for course material development.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Horticulture‑related industry certifications.
  • Instructional experience at a community/technical college or four‑year college, especially with alternative delivery models.
  • Familiarity with Zoom.
  • Experience with Dynascape Landscape Design or comparable software.
