Position: Senior Instructional Designer (Learning Solutions Designer)
Location: New York

Location

This is a hybrid remote/in-office role based in Iselin, NJ or NYC.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively own the customer learning experience for your assigned scope of Medidata Solutions.
  • Manage the on‑time and quality delivery of your assigned scope of deliverables, including planning, design, development, implementation, delivery, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Medidata customer product training materials.
  • Learn, contribute to continuous improvement of, the Medidata Solutions and Global Education processes and technologies required to fulfill your role.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, SMEs, and stakeholders to produce impactful learning results.
  • Integrate voice‑of‑customer (VOC) feedback into requirements and outcomes on a continuous basis.
  • Demonstrate clear and enabling communication to drive successful outcomes and foster a community of mutual support across teams and projects.
  • Develop and deliver real‑time status reporting and presentations, including technical information, regarding scope of work, specific projects, or schedules.
  • Develop and conduct work streams, working teams, and work groups to enable the successful delivery of targeted outcomes using consensus agreement and continuous feedback leadership models.
  • Provide direct supervision to contracted professional individual contributors and/or skilled support individual contributors (e.g., technicians, designers, support personnel).
  • Learn and maintain Medidata product knowledge required to develop impactful education and training materials. Author and produce course materials as required.
Qualifications
  • Establish and maintain strong, productive partnerships and enabling interactions with colleagues, management, functional peers, supervisors, and SMEs.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and positivity in all interactions. Act as a great advocate for the customer and a collective representative of Medidata Global Education.
  • Serve as trusted advisor to manager, peers, and SCE unit/sub‑units; maintain a productive, delightful culture of work, meet targets, innovate, and resolve issues.
  • Advanced knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE), information mapping, persona, and learning path development.
  • Proficient in Instructional Design, SCORM, Articulate Storyline, Confluence, Google Workspace, Photoshop, and Camtasia.
  • Exceptional team/project manager, leader, and role model for a team of Instructional Designers.
  • Expertise in technical lesson and curriculum planning, video learning and development, eLearning and ILT course content development.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to learn software products and write structured course content consistently using content models and governance.
  • Strong partnership, peer‑peer collaboration, and organizational/time management skills.
  • Positive, responsive, proactive leader comfortable managing change and innovating to support targeted objectives.
  • Self‑motivated, responsible, and accountable working autonomously in a professional manner.
  • Effective communication of concepts quickly and accurately.
  • Experience with International English, JIRA/Confluence agile practices, and L&D localization best practices.
  • Experience working with Agile Software development teams.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced, software development environment.
  • Experience with SaaS, Gauge platforms, and Gainsight is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree required; or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years in a global, technical Instructional Designer role with relevant curricula/courseware development experience.
  • Leadership and expertise in agile content management practices and experience on an agile software development team.
  • Clinical content development experience preferred.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for positions based in the NYC Metro Area is $79,500–$106,000. Medidata offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, 401(k) matching, family leave, flexible paid time off, and 10 paid holidays per year.
