Job Description :
Upward Bound is a federal grant program designed to increase the number of low-income and first-generation students who are prepared to graduate from high schooland to enter and persist in post-secondary education. Upward Bound provides five-year grants partnerships to provide services athigh poverty, underserved high schools. Upward Bound grantees serve an entire cohort of students beginning in the ninth grade and following the cohort through their first year of college.
Job Responsibilities :
- Assist the Project Director with the implementation of goals and objectives
- Be responsible for part-time staff supervision & coaching
- Provide oversight of UB teaching staff at partner school
- Aidwith student/parent recruitment and outreach
- Schedule &facilitateproject support services and activities at the partner school
- Coordinate program support with partners and SJU departments
- Monitor student attendance & provide direct support (i.e.
- SEIJ academic/ college & career planning) - Update project participants' filesand the collection of project services data (i.e. attendance, eventsign-insheets, registrationforms,etc.)
- Serveproject participants in developing and achieving skillareasidentifiedin his/her PLP (Personalized Learning Plan )
- Supportin project reporting andcapturingof required data
- Engage regularly in various partner school committee meetings

Minimum Qualifications :
- Master's degree in counseling, education, psychology, social work, or other relevant discipline
- At least three years of experience in working with disadvantaged student populations in a secondary or higher education setting
- Experience in academic advising,tutoring, counseling, teaching, or student affairs; computer proficiency
- Knowledge of the college application process and financial aid policies and regulations
