Part Time French Foreign Language Teacher

The Ardsley School District is seeking a part time (.6) French foreign language teacher for an anticipated position for the  school year. Ardsley High School is seeking a dynamic and versatile world language teacher to provide instruction in French. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging, student-centered lessons that develop proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing, while fostering an appreciation for diverse cultures.

This teacher will create an inclusive classroom environment and use a communicative approach to help students build real-world language skills.

Performance responsibilities include planning and delivering standards-aligned instruction in French at various proficiency levels, developing students' language skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing, incorporating cultural content and authentic materials into lessons, using a communicative and interactive approach to language instruction, assessing student progress regularly and providing timely, constructive feedback, differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs, maintaining a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment, communicating effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, and participating in curriculum development, faculty meetings, and professional development.

Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in French, or a related field (master's degree preferred), demonstrated proficiency in both Italian (native or near-native fluency preferred), experience teaching at the high school level preferred, strong understanding of language acquisition and communicative teaching methods, excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills, and commitment to fostering an inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment. NYS teaching certification in a world language (French) is required.

Performance will be evaluated annually by building administration.
