District-Wide School Psychologist
The Southampton Union Free School District is seeking a dedicated, culturally responsive, and highly skilled District-Wide School Psychologist, probationary status. This unique role combines traditional school psychological services with specialized district support responsibilities, specifically assisting with the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) / Committee on Special Education (CSE), psycho-educational evaluations and acting as the District level McKinney-Vento (MKV) Liaison.
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative advocate committed to removing barriers to learning and fostering social-emotional development, academic success, and overall well-being of all students across the district. This candidate will become a member of a highly skilled District team that will support matched programs and services for students.
CPSE/CSEServe as the Chairperson of CPSE/CSE meetings, ensuring full compliance with New York State regulations and district policies.
Manage the intake, evaluation, and CPSE to CSE transition
Collaborate closely with families, county representatives, preschool providers, and multi-disciplinary evaluation teams as well as staff to develop appropriate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Serve as the District level point of contact for School Social Workers and families and serve as an advocate for MKV students and families experiencing housing instability.
Coordinate district-wide resources, transportation, and academic/socio-emotional support services to ensure educational stability and equitable access for students who are MKV eligible.
Conduct comprehensive psycho educational evaluations to determine students' eligibility for special education services.
Provide consultation to teachers, administrators, and parents regarding behavioral management, academic interventions, and/or mental health awareness.
Any other duties as appropriate and assigned by the Director of Pupil Personnel Services
Certification:
Valid New York State (NYS) Certification as a School Psychologist is required.Language:
Bilingual Spanish/English fluency is highly desirable but not required.
