The Opportunity:
Prospect Schools is seeking an Intervention Teacher to support our Windsor Terrace campus in its founding year, 2026-27. Prospectors are grounded in an equity-driven approach following the principles of the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum where instruction emphasizes academic rigor, critical thinking, global mindedness, and inclusive classroom practices. As an educator at Prospect, you will be part of a collaborative and high-performing instructional team and will report directly to a member of the school leadership team.
Small Group Instruction
- Support students by leading impactful small group instruction throughout the learning day
- Employ push in and pull out strategies to provide the least-restrictive learning environment for students
- Support a caseload of Tier 2 and Tier 3 students, as determined by school leaders
- Plan and lead Special Education Teacher Support Services (SETSS) sessions, as determined by student IEPs and grade level caseloads
- Teach to an intentionally diverse student body and actively work to engage all students throughout the lesson
- Attend regular coaching meetings with your direct manager and professional development sessions as part of the school team
- Use data-informed methods to modify and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of the individual learners
- Where applicable, serve as an Advisor to students, motivating students across academic skill levels and cultivating students’ social-emotional awareness and well-being
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of content and effective pedagogy, evidenced by clear and objective-driven instruction and meaningful student engagement practices
Set clear expectations and consistent routines to create a purposeful, warm, and supportive learning environment
Build a culturally sustaining classroom community where all students feel known, safe, valued, and respected by adults and peers
Embody a "Team First" mindset by collaborating across grade level and content teams, participating in professional development, and partnering with the broader school community
Demonstrate a commitment to giving and receiving feedback for the purpose of continuous personal growth and betterment of the teaching and learning team
Caregiver Partnership
Build strong partnerships with caregivers through consistent communication and regular updates on student progress
Use caregiver feedback to continuously improve instruction and the overall learning experience
Coordinate and facilitate family meetings as needed and attend any/all school wide caregiver events
About You:
You have earned a Bachelors Degree.
You have prior teaching experience.
You are in the process of earning or have earned a New York Teaching License Certification. (Learn more here )
