Location: New York

Lecturer / Lecturer Doctoral Schedule – Simulation Nurse

Lehman College, part of The City University of New York, seeks a full‑time Lecturer/Doctoral Schedule in the role of a Simulation Nurse in the Simulation/Arts Laboratory Center beginning Fall 2026/Spring 2027.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses assigned by the department chair and based on the candidate’s credentials and experience.
  • Participate in the day‑to‑day operation of the nursing simulation and arts laboratory.
  • Provide faculty guidance and support in developing and delivering simulation scenarios; conduct training sessions to enhance faculty competency in simulation pedagogy and technology.
  • Design and develop realistic simulation scenarios that reflect clinical practice settings and patient populations encountered in nursing, addressing various levels of learner proficiency and promoting critical thinking and clinical decision‑making.
  • Coordinate with the Academic manager to develop assessment tools and criteria for evaluating student performance in simulation‑based learning activities; collect and analyze data to assess effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Keep staff abreast of advancements in simulation technology and pedagogy.
  • Foster partnerships with other healthcare disciplines to facilitate interprofessional simulation experiences; coordinate joint simulation activities to promote teamwork and communication skills among healthcare professionals.
  • Have experience using high and low‑fidelity simulations in adult and child nursing.
  • Participate in departmental, school, and college meetings; provide service to the department, school, college, and university as required for faculty permanency.

    Skills and Abilities
    • Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in New York.
    • Demonstrated experience in nursing education with a focus on simulation‑based learning.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders.
    • Knowledge of simulation technology and equipment, including proficiency in simulation software applications.
    • Familiarity with CCNE accreditation standards and NYSED regulatory requirements for nursing education programs.
    Qualifications Lecturer
    :
    Master’s degree in Nursing with the ability to teach successfully in adult health and community‑based care. Excellent organizational skills; demonstrated experience working in a large and diverse program, administrative skills, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
    Lecturer on a Doctoral Schedule
    :
    PhD, EdD, or DNS in Nursing with the ability to teach successfully in adult health and community‑based care. Excellent organizational skills; demonstrated experience working in a large and diverse program, administrative skills, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator.
    • Commitment to obtain Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator within two (2) years of hire.
    Compensation

    Lecturer: $95,302‑$101,737. Lecturer/Doctoral

    Schedule:

    $101,040‑$107,686.
