Competitive Salary Range that Outpaces DOE Scale: $75,000 to $110,000 per year, with potential flexibility based on experience

Terrific K-8 Art Teacher position in the NYC area beginning in the  academic year. The position will join a highly collaborative and mission-driven school focused on meeting the academic and social-emotional needs of its 400+ students. The Art Teacher will have a passion for teaching and providing expertise in art education to a student population impacted by foster care or the child welfare system.

• Develop lesson plans that comply with standards and meet grade expectations and outcomes
• Provide instruction and expertise in the subject of art education
• Collaborate with fellow teachers to create lessons that are interdisciplinary
• Participate in staff development programs and opportunities
  
  Collect and evaluate academic data
• Evaluate students progress through a variety of assessments

• Approximately 2+ years of relevant teaching experience in art
• Master's degree preferred, NYS teaching certification is a plus but not required
• Experience in a charter school environment is a plus
• Subject matter expert in art and art education
• Strong classroom management
• Mission-driven individual, passionate about teaching in underserved communities
