The Hollingworth Science Camp at Teachers College, Columbia University, is seeking an experienced and engaging Head Teacher for our Summer Science Camp. The Head Teacher will lead classroom activities, foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, and support the academic and social development of students. This is a short-term summer position from June 20 to July 30, 3026.

The incumbent will be responsible for all aspects of teaching a group of elementary-aged children for the duration of the camp.

• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience teaching elementary-aged children as a lead teacher in their own classroom
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced camp environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and staff
• Ability to foster a collaborative and positive team environment
• Ability to develop and implement creative, hands‑on learning activities
• Experience with supporting social‑emotional learning and student well‑being
• Strong problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing schedules, student needs, and camp activities

• Master of Arts degree or in progress
• Experience mentoring or coaching other teachers or staff
