- Plan and implement specific instruction for students in targeted small pull-out groups as well as through push-in support.
- Assess student progress regularly.
- Conduct observations and screenings to determine if a student is in need of additional literacy support.
- Collaborate with teachers to support understanding of students’ learning needs and to differentiate classroom instruction.
- Conduct team meetings in literacy curriculum for grades 3-4.
- Work with the Academic Dean to review/discuss curricular cohesion in your division and school wide.
- Oversee classroom assessments. In collaboration with classroom teachers, communicate with parents about individual student strengths and challenges, goal setting, and progress.
- Collaborate with the Guidance Team.
- Coordinate support with outside tutors and remedial specialists.
- Write mid-year and year-end literacy summary reports for students taught.
- Communicate routinely progress monitoring information to families.
- Consult with the Admissions Office and assess applicants as needed.
- Master's degree in relevant field required.
- 3-5 years teaching experience in an elementary setting required.
- Experience with SRSD, Readers/Writers Workshop, Fundations, Words Their Way.
- Experience with revising curriculum to meet the needs of current students.
- Experience differentiating instruction to best support students.
- Experience incorporating technology in support of student learning.
