Founded in 2004 to manage Stuyvesant Cove Park, a two-acre native plant park and small environmental education center, Solar One has grown into an award-winning organization with a thriving array of programs. Solar One's mission is to design and deliver innovative education, training, and technical assistance that fosters sustainability and resiliency in diverse urban environments. We empower learning that changes how people think about energy, sustainability, and resilience by engaging and educating diverse stakeholders and beneficiaries.

Solar One seeks an Environmental Educator to deliver quality environmental STEM and climate action education in NYC.

Under the direction of the Director of STEM Education, the Environmental Educator will teach Solar One’s climate action and green career readiness programs with K-12 students across all five boroughs and occasionally throughout NY State.

• Teach Solar One's climate action and green career readiness curriculum in K‑12 schools, at the Stuyvesant Cove Park Education Center, or virtually.
• Travel within New York City frequently and occasionally to other parts of New York State.
• Co‑facilitate professional development workshops for New York State teachers.
• Coordinate programs with schools and community partners, including program planning, materials coordination, and scheduling.
• Participate in professional networks to promote Green Design Lab programming and establish partnerships with potential stakeholders.
• Assist the Director of STEM Education with administrative tasks such as recording, tracking, and reporting activities delivered to schools and teachers.
• Use program evaluation feedback from students, teachers, and school administrators to update curriculum alongside the education team.
• Facilitate STEM programming and summer camps for schools during July to mid‑August.

Pay: $64,000–$72,000 per year (salary based on experience). This position is Full Time / Exempt.
