Position Details
Reporting to the President, the Vice President (VP) of Student Affairs will provide leadership for student life culture that promotes civility, celebrates diversity, and encourages an inclusive campus climate. The Vice President is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the student development and retention programs and services managed by the Division of Student Affairs and for recommending the development and implementation of new programs and services that support the College’s strategic plan.
Areas of oversight include Health Services, Counseling, Student Disability Services, Gender Resources, Student Life and Leadership Development, Veterans Affairs, Community Standards, International Student and Scholar Services, Student Housing/The Towers, and the Child Development Center.
Responsibilities- Provide overall leadership, administration, and strategic direction of the Division of Student Affairs, ensuring programs and resources promote student success and advance the College mission and strategic priorities.
- Supervise divisional staff, oversee development and implementation of policies, programs, and procedures related to student affairs, and foster collaboration across College departments.
- Establish divisional goals and objectives, evaluate performance outcomes, promote continuous improvement, and ensure effective delivery of services.
- Collaborate closely with Academic Affairs and other College and University leaders to develop and implement strategic initiatives that enhance the student experience.
- Lead in the use of technology, assessment, and performance metrics to improve services, support student engagement, and advance institutional effectiveness.
- Represent the Division of Student Affairs in College-wide and University-wide initiatives, promote a culture of excellence, innovation, accountability, and inclusion, and perform other duties as assigned by the President.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and eight years of related experience.
- Extensive experience overseeing the functional areas within the Division of Student Affairs, including supervision and development of a diverse professional staff.
- Demonstrated record of excellence in leadership and management of student affairs functions within a large, complex higher education environment with similar student population.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proven ability to build effective relationships with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and external stakeholders.
- At least eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in positions with similar scope and responsibilities.
- Doctoral-level degree preferred.
Salary Range: $178,550 – $205,000. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
