Teacher Assistant (SPED – High-Functioning Students)
Location: Avenue Y, Brooklyn, New York
School: Atidaynu Our Future School
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $38,000–$45,000 annually
At Atidaynu Our Future School, we are seeking a compassionate and reliable Teacher Assistant to support high-functioning students in a special education setting. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with students and supporting classroom instruction.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities
- Provide one‑on‑one and small‑group support to students
- Help implement lesson plans and instructional materials
- Support students with academic tasks and organization
- Reinforce positive behavior and classroom routines
- Assist with monitoring student progress and engagement
- Help maintain a structured, safe, and supportive classroom environment
- High school diploma required;
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred - Experience working with children or in a school setting (SPED experience a plus)
- Patience, flexibility, and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow teacher direction and work collaboratively
- Basic organizational and communication skills
