UPK Lead Teacher

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced educator to lead a team of teachers caring for 3K children aged 3 to 4 years old. All staff care, supervise, engage the children in meaningful experiences and activities, potty train, and maintain positive communication with families, peers, and the administration team. Developmental goals and challenges are considered weekly with an individual plan for each child.

Knowledge in lesson planning and assessments is a plus. We follow the DOE's academic standards and use Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold to document formal assessments of all students.

• Minimum of a BA in Early Childhood; a Master’s is preferred.
• Teacher’s NYS Certification required, or on the way to it.
• Lead Teacher in an Early childhood classroom experience.
• Teaching Certification license.
• Ability to commute to Brooklyn, NY 11215 or planning to relocate before starting work.

Honeydew has been serving the Brooklyn community since 1999. We care for children ages 3 months to 5 years old at five locations in Park Slope, Fort Greene, and the Kensington area. Honeydew Drop’s mission is to provide high‑quality childcare, parental support, community building, and leadership training for childcare providers. Our focus is the social‑emotional health and growth of the children, their families, and their caregivers.
