Job SummaryThe Junior Group Leader is responsible for the direct guidance, supervision, and safety of youth under their care, while ensuring an engaging and intellectually stimulating member experience. He/ she will serve as a model for youth ages 10-12 by building rapport with members through positive interactions in program activities. The Junior Group Leader will also assist in the supervision of PT staff that may include activity aides and volunteers.
MajorDuties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of a group of 10-21 boys.
- Plan, develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum of interactive challenges, activities and games for members that lead to members developing core competencies.
- Provide guidance, problem-solving facilitation, and behavior modification direction as needed.
- Participate with group in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, including games, arts and crafts, theatre, computer lab, swimming, and field trips.
- Assist with daily set-up, daily clean up, and transportation.
- Ensure proper care of all area materials, organize room and report any misused or damaged materials to the department director in order to prevent injuries or damage.
- Responsible for completing and the timely submission of all program reports relative to this position, including but not limited to supply requests, lesson plans and timesheets.
Associate's degree (A.
A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
Junior level or higher preferred;
Teaching Assistants and Para Professionals are encouraged to apply.
