Special Education Science & Lab Teacher
? Avenue Y, Brooklyn, NY
We are seeking a dedicated and engaging Special Education Science & Lab Teacher to work with high functioning ASD students in a supportive learning environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about hands‑on science instruction, able to adapt lessons to meet diverse learning needs, and committed to helping students succeed academically and socially.
Responsibilities- Teach science through interactive labs and experiments
- Adapt instruction to meet individual student needs and IEP goals
- Create a positive, structured classroom environment
- Collaborate with staff and families to support student success
- Monitor and document student progress
- Experience working with students with special needs
- Strong science background and classroom management skills
- Teaching certification preferred
- Passion for hands‑on, student‑centered learning
$60–$100 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
