HEWLETT-WOODMERE PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Hewlett-Woodmere Public Schools is seeking a dynamic educational leader to serve as the Assistant Principal – Ogden Elementary School effective July 2026. HWPS is located on the south shore of Long Island and is consistently ranked as one of the highest performing districts on both state and national levels. The district provides all students with an engaging curriculum in a caring, student‑centered environment that maximizes individual potential, cultivates character, and celebrates success.

We are seeking an innovative educational leader who will work collaboratively with the principal, faculty, staff, students, District Leadership Team, and parents to inspire and promote academic excellence and achievement for every student. Minimum Qualifications
  • NYSED certification in administration (SBL, SAS, or SDA)
  • Successful administrative and teaching experience, preferable at the elementary level
Ideal Candidate Should Possess
  • Extensive knowledge of instructional leadership, including best practices, curriculum development, NYS Learning Standards, and assessment
  • Working knowledge of NYS requirements for students with disabilities (including 504 Plans) and ENL students
  • Commitment to collaborative planning with the administrative team and faculty members to lead school improvement
  • Desire to maintain and build a school culture conducive to academic, social, and emotional learning
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Strong technology skills, including using technology as an instructional tool
  • Willingness to learn and grow professionally
