Pay Scale: $46,500- $66,500/ Year, Based on Experience

Job Description

To provide academic, social, and developmental support for individual students. This service may be provided at school or in the home and may be direct or consultative.

Typical Duties
  • Provide educational assessments for deaf or hard of hearing students.
  • Provide instructional support services to deaf or hard of hearing students.
  • Provide training to classroom teachers and other building staff in the management of the deaf or hard of hearing student.
  • Monitor student's use of educational amplification.
  • Maintain communication with administration, teachers and parents regarding the student's educational program.
  • Complete Individual Educational Plans.
  • Participate in staffing conferences and Committee on Special Education meetings.
  • Maintain updated records on individual students.
  • Perform such other professionally related duties as may be assigned by the Special Education Administration
Qualifications

Experience:

Prior teaching experience strongly preferred

Education:

New York State Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf
