Remedial Speech Teacher (Temporary) Qualifications
  • Hold New York State certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped or Teacher of the Speech and Language Disabled.
  • Attach a PDF or screenshot of current certifications.
  • Preferred:
    New York State licensure for Speech‑Language Pathology and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid regulations, ASHA Scope and Practice of Speech‑Language Pathology, and federal and state regulations pertaining to speech pathology.
Duties
  • Establish an environment for student growth and effective communication.
  • Facilitate ongoing services for students with disabilities and conduct speech‑language screening and evaluations.
  • Cooperate with school personnel to accomplish IEP goals and objectives.
  • Plan, organize, and deliver high‑quality speech‑language services, monitor and evaluate student progress, maintain records and reports, enforce Board policies, and maintain school property.
  • Perform additional assigned duties as required.
Appointment

Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent after assessing training, experience, certifications, credentials, and service evaluation. Personal interviews will be scheduled as appropriate.
