The STEM Enrichment Instructor will lead a high-engagement, project-based learning club within a specific STEM discipline. This role requires an instructor who can inspire curiosity, teach critical thinking skills, and create a fun, inclusive environment where students can explore new technologies and strategies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Supervise and ensure the safety, well-being, and engagement of up to 15 students during after-school programming.
- Plan and facilitate engaging lessons and enrichment activities, adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs and interests.
- Establish learning objectives, monitor student progress, and support skill development through project-based activities.
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages participation, collaboration, and character development.
- Prepare classrooms and materials, maintain attendance records, and assist with daily program setup and cleanup.
- Implement safety protocols, including emergency procedures and evacuation drills.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and adjust activities to maximize student engagement and outcomes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the After‑School Program Director.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; certifications or credentials in relevant STEM disciplines are preferred.
- Availability to work late afternoons and/or evenings (typically 4:00–6:00 p.m., with program hours between 3:00–6:30 p.m.).
- Experience in one or more STEM disciplines and prior experience working with youth in a classroom, enrichment, or after‑school setting preferred.
- Strong communication, classroom management, and group facilitation skills, with the ability to adapt instruction for diverse learners and follow program schedules.
- Passion for STEM education and youth development; candidates qualified to lead instruction in multiple activities are preferred. Must successfully complete required background checks and clearances.
- $25 - $35 per hour
