La Salle Academy, an all‑male college preparatory high school, seeks an experienced college counselor. Located in the East Village neighborhood of New York City, La Salle Academy is a small school with a 175‑year history that enrolls a culturally diverse student population. It is a member of the international network of Lasallian Schools.
Education: Master’s Degree or higher.
Experience: 3‑5 years of college counseling experience desired. Familiarity/expertise with Naviance, The Common Application, and the CUNY application preferred. FACTS SIS knowledge a bonus.
Duties:
- Educate and guide students and parents through the college application process.
- Critique college essays.
- Process college applications.
- Provide academic and personal counseling to the students.
- Communicate with parents, students, faculty, and administration regularly.
- Organize, advertise and monitor college representative visits and Zoom calls.
- Keep detailed accurate records.
Start Date: September 3, 2024, with new faculty orientation taking place in late August.
Salary: Commensurate with experience and credentials. Minimum starting salary $25,000.
