• Provides proactive leadership that engages all stakeholders in the delivery of programs and services to help students achieve success
• Academic skills support and career pathways
• Career and college readiness preparation
• Working knowledge of master schedule development and course requests
• Assist students in post-secondary planning such as college applications, scholarships and resume preparation
• Foster positive parent involvement
• Works closely with component district counseling departments
• Reviews each student's educational progress and career plans with each student individually
• Provides individual or group counseling assistance
• Assists students with attendance, academic, behavioral or adjustment problems, provide additional one on one counseling as needed
• Collects and reviews pertinent data for local and state reporting
• Coordinates tours, speakers, college visits, site visits
• Performs all other related duties as assigned by the Principal

NYS Certification as a School Counselor

Salary: $55,445 (2026‑27 Base Salary). Additional salary may be granted based upon experience.
