The UAS Capabilities Analyst will lead a comprehensive Baseline Comparison System (BCS) analysis to integrate current and emerging electromagnetic warfare (EW) and airborne network extension (ANE) capabilities into the Marine Corps MQ-9 Training and Readiness (T&R) framework. The role involves identifying training gaps, redundancies, and skill requirements across aircrew, maintenance, and command and control communities to ensure seamless operational readiness. By applying the Marine Corps Instructional Systems Design (MCISD), Systems Approach to Training and Education (SATE), or other instructional design best practices, the analyst will develop actionable curriculum recommendations and task lists to modernize the MQ-9 training continuum.

Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Conduct a Baseline Comparison System (BCS) Analysis to support the deliberate incorporation of current and emerging EW and ANE capabilities into the Marine Corps MQ-9 T&R framework.
  • Compare new capability requirements to existing training standards to ensure alignment with current tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and identify areas for improvement.
  • Analyze how new MQ-9 capabilities will affect various communities, including aircrew, sensor operators, and maintenance personnel, to ensure that training is aligned with requirements and informs future training development.
  • Provide recommendations on the integration of new and emerging EW and C2 technologies within the T&R syllabus and assess their impact across the training continuum.
  • Analyze knowledge and skill sets that are not currently introduced through Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS) training or vendor provided instruction and identify the appropriate T&R level for introduction.
  • Identify knowledge, skills, and lessons currently being developed through operational on-the-job learning associated with current and emerging EW and ANE payload.
  • Develop current and emerging EW and ANE training task lists that define tasks and roles for operators, maintainers, and supporting MOSs.
  • Identify gaps within existing training constructs related to current and emerging EW and ANE employment. Develop recommendations to address those gaps, including Crew Resource Management considerations between Signals Intelligence Marines and UAS aircrew.
  • Identify materials, equipment, devices, media or hardware required to support future EW and ANE training.
  • Identify and provide recommendations on training requirements for Aviation Command and Control MOSs as they relate to current and emerging EW and ANE capabilities within the VMU.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10+ years of experience with crewed or uncrewed military aviation systems.
  • Subject Matter Expert in Marine Corps Training & Readiness (T&R) Programs, MCISD, and training governance processes (e.g., OPNAVINST 1500.76E) or service equivalents.
  • Expertise in instructional design frameworks (ADDIE, SATE, or equivalent), including conducting front-end/gap analyses to design, implement, and assess effective training programs.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Electronic Warfare (EW) principles and radio frequency propagation.
  • Strong communication and technical skills, encompassing excellent writing, editing, and briefing abilities, alongside experience using Microsoft Office and project management tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
